Noah was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough while working on both my air ducts and chimney. He took the time to explain everything and made sure the work was done properly from start to finish.

Gas Fireplace Service
Burner, pilot, logs, glass and venting cleaned and tested once a year, about an hour.

Firebox Repair
Cracked firebrick, failed refractory panels and crumbling joints rebuilt so the fire stays in the box.

Fireplace Installation
Wood-burning, gas or insert: sized to the room, vented to code, finished clean.

Chimney Sweep
The flue above the fireplace, swept and photographed on the same visit.

Chimney Inspection
The whole system, firebox to cap, once a year.

Dryer Vent Cleaning
While the ladder is out: the full dryer run cleared, cap to dryer.
Signs Your Fireplace May Need
Attention
Problems inside a chimney or a vent are not always easy to see. These common signs mean it should be professionally inspected.
Gas Fireplace Will Not Light
A dirty pilot or a tired thermocouple, almost always. Part of the annual service.
The Whoomp on Ignition
Delayed ignition from clogged burner ports. A safety issue, not a quirk.
Soot on the Glass or Logs
Logs out of position or a burner starved of air.
Cracked Firebrick or Panels
Gaps in the firebox let heat reach the framing behind it.
Crumbling Mortar Joints
Repointing early is a small job; rebuilding a firebox is not.
An Old Open Fireplace You Never Use
An insert turns it into heat you will actually use, with a liner up the old flue.

Frequently Asked
Questions About Fireplace Services
Do you offer free inspections before service?
Yes. Every service starts with a free professional inspection. We look, photograph what we find and give you a written price before anything is touched.
My gas fireplace will not light. What is usually wrong?
A dirty pilot or a failed thermocouple most of the time. Both are part of the annual service.
What is the whoomp when it lights?
Delayed ignition: gas pools before it lights because the burner ports are clogged. It is a safety issue and the service fixes it.
Is the smell on first use normal?
Dust burning off for a minute is normal. A smell that persists is not, and the fireplace should be looked at.
Can I keep using the fireplace with a cracked firebrick?
Hairline cracks are usually fine. A crack you can fit a coin in, or missing mortar, means stop until it is repaired.
What is a refractory panel?
The moulded panels that line a factory-built fireplace. They crack with age and are replaced as a set or individually.
Wood, gas or insert: which should I choose?
Depends on how you use the room. We walk through it on the consultation and tell you honestly which fits the house and the budget.
